1849 Norris, Grieg and Norris $5 Half Eagle AU-55 PCGS $10,500
Reeded Edge variety.  This is considered by most historians and experts to be the first private gold coins to be struck in California.  A newspaper account dated May 31, 1849, described a five dollar gold coin, struck at Benicia City, though with the imprint of San Francisco.

Today, only a handful of examples are known to exist.  PCGS has graded only 37 coins in any grade of this Reeded Edge variety.  Only 3 coins have ever reached this lofty grade of AU-55, with only 3 coins ever graded higher.

A beautiful coin with a very interesting design, both obverse and reverse.  Minted during during the California Gold Rush; in California before it became a state.  A true piece of history, and you will love this coin!

Picture
1911 $2 1/2 Indian Proof 67 NGC $29,500
Tied for the finest graded of the date and type!  A superb matte proof, with a few tiny light-golden highlights in the nooks and crevices of the design.  This date, along with the 1908, is usually the darkest matte proof of the series, and that is inevitable as the coin was minted that way.  Even so, this particular specimen is extremely attractive and as light in color as can be found in an original, undipped specimen.  The strike is unimprovable and the surfaces are extraordinary and spot-free.

1876 $3 Gold Piece Proof 66 Cameo NGC $75,000
The 1876 $3 gold piece is one of the most overlooked coins in the world of proof gold.  Struck the year after the legendary rarity of 1875, the 1876 is also a proof-only issue, with a mintage reported at only 45 pieces, although a few restrikes were also minted (or, arguably, the mintage records are incorrect).  Whatever the true story is, the issue is still a great rarity, and this is the finest graded specimen.

The coin is beautifully struck, fully reflective and brilliant, with moderately heavy cameo contrast.  As a type coin, it would be considered a cornerstone of a great gold collection.  With the added enticements of its' proof-only status and great rarity, it's another numismatic prize from special Tulving Company offering.

1911-D $5 Indian MS-63 PCGS $19,950
The 1911-D $5 Indian is one of the key dates of this important series.  It's the second-lowest mintage date behind the 1909-O, as only 72,500 pieces were struck.  There are few survivors in mint state, and no example has ever graded MS-65 or better at PCGS.  The piece offered here is exceptionally nice, with a rounded mark-free cheek, clean surfaces, a clear crisp mintmark, and a great look.  One of 19 graded MS-63, with 14 higher.
Picture

IMPORTANT NOTICE
FACTORS YOU MUST CONSIDER IN PURCHASING COINS

RISK: The purchase of coins is highly speculative and involves substantial risk. As in other markets, coin prices can be extremely volatile and will rise and fall depending upon market conditions. Therefore, before purchasing coins, you should first have adequate cash reserves and other assets to absorb a potentially significant loss.

HOLDING PERIOD: Historically, few coins have appreciated dramatically in the short term. Therefore, purchasers should recognize that it may well be necessary for them to hold coins for a 3 - 5 year period, or even a 5 - 10 year period, to have any chance of realizing a significant gain.
